We welcome a number of international guests this year from all over Europe, the USE and Asia. Get a global outlook at Saturday in Design and meet some esteemed design and business personalities.

Benjamin Hubert

At Saturday in Design, Benjamin Hubert will be on hand to give advice and mentoring to other emerging designers through the Launch Pad program. “I don’t know very much about Australian design, other than Marc Newson,” explains Hubert. “So I’m really interested to see what is emerging, particularly the new generations.” He will also be available throughout the event at the Great Dane Furniture showroom where artisans will be demonstrating their techniques and exploring the theme ‘Materiality: Make, Create, Play’.

HERVÉ LANGLAIS

French architect and designer for LE LABO design, Hervé Langlais will be in Australia for the fi rst time and exclusively for Saturday in Design 2011. With LE LABO Design represented in Australia by Boyac Contract, Langlais will be meeting and greeting visitors at their shared space with Arthur G in Surry Hills Village. His designs include visionary work with stainless steel and lighting, which is installed in prestigious international projects.

JOHN CHUNG

Managing Director of chair manufacturing company, Sidiz, John Chung will be an international guest at Australian Workstation Manufacturers. He is here to launch the new T60 seating range, designed by furniture designer, Claudio Bellini, son of Italian designer/architect Mario Bellini.

LARS DAHMANN

Insitu have invited Lars Dahmann, founder and principal designer for USA-based Lebello, to be a part of their festivities. Lebello’s range of modern casual indoor/ outdoor furniture is well-suited to Australian environments, and Dahmann will bring one of his key production people to explain the craftsmanship behind the products.

ROLF HAY

Here for the Australian launch of the About A Chair Collection, is Rolf Hay, Danish designer and founder of Hay design studio. Hay will be at Corporate Culture throughout Saturday to answer questions about his designs and about the immensely successful Hay brand.

ULF WEINHERT

Celebrating their new partnership with chair manufacturer, Sedus, who they will exclusively distribute in Australia, Iken have invited Export Director, Ulf Weinert, from Germany. He will be in town to share his experience and passion for the brand, which has been producing innovative furniture designs for over 130 years.

DANIEL NIKLES & ALEX CARUSO

Join Daniel Nikles of Nikles Showers in Switzerland, and Alex Caruso of Unoceramica in Italy at the Reece showroom. They will be available all day to introduce the new products from Nikles and Unoceramica and present the features of the products and answer any questions.

CHRIS MARTIN AND LUIS DE OLIVERA

Chris Martin of Massproductions in Sweden and Luis De Olivera of De La Espada in Portugal will host a Q&A 3pm Friday at Spence & Lyda.
