RIM FABRICS COMES FULL CIRCLE
Rim Fabrics have been a strong supporter of Saturday in Design – and of the wider Australian design community – with their involvement in the Launch Pad program, which has now come full circle.
It started as a simple partnership in 2006 – Rim Fabrics and the young Launch Pad exhibition. Throughout its evolution, Rim Fabrics have continued their support of the program in the form of a mentoring role to various Launch Pad finalists, and they are now seeing real evidence of this symbiotic relationship, which is indicative of our wider design community. As sponsor of the Launch Pad 2006 event, Rim Fabrics awarded a prize for the most innovative design – the winner being Babak Aryaie for his Stool 60.
This was just the starting point for this quirky design, and now Stool 60 is available commercially – manufactured by Woodmark and exclusively distributed by Zenith.
And the partnership goes further with Stool 60 now available upholstered in Data – a heavy duty fabric available from Rim. The unique non-fray textile construction provides a vandal proof finish for this innovative piece of loose furniture, and the development neatly re-unites the positive energy between Rim Fabrics and emerging design.
